In April, Golovkin returned to the ring for the first time in two years to fight Ryota Murata. Golovkin earned the WBA (Super) middleweight belt with his victory via technical knockout in the ninth round.

Canelo vs GGG 3 Prediction Today
Golovkin’s size advantage against Alvarez, a former junior middleweight who is now fighting at super middleweight, has been erased by Alvarez’s meteoric jump in weight.
GGG’s only chance of winning is to go all-in for the knockout. Especially considering Alvarez’s similarly resolute chin, no. To slow down his opponent, though, he’ll need to go into the clinch and fight as physically as he ever has, and he’ll need to have an eagerness that hasn’t been present late in his greatest (and closest) bouts previously.
In order to gauge how much energy GGG still has, Alvarez will likely start the fight slowly yet effectively. But once he adjusts to come forward as Alvarez did in the rematch, it’s probable he’ll weaken Golovkin to the body late while walking him down.
It’s hardly surprising that the fight went the distance; Golovkin is a proud man who has amazing punch resistance. But Golovkin’s true prospects are nothing to sneeze at. A second consecutive decision defeat seems probable unless he is ready to drastically modify his game to combat his physical deterioration and take gambles in ways we haven’t seen before.
