The new season of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is nearing its end. The draft for the season was released at a hotel in Dhaka on Monday. A total of six teams will take part in this year’s BPL and the matches will be played at three venues in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. According to UNB, the BPL will start on January 21 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The participating teams had a good chance to sign one local and three international players directly. The teams have seized the opportunity well.
BPL Match Schedule 2024
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has now confirmed the cancellation of the upcoming BPL 2024 schedule due to the growing case of Covid-19. The BCB finds it difficult to host the tournament in November-December. As the 2024 T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in that time. The previous edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 was also canceled due to the epidemic. The BCB president said it would not be possible to conduct the tournament without the participation of foreign cricketers and would also put pressure on logistics.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board organizes the Bangladesh Premier League, a T20 franchise cricket league (BCB). The eighth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 8) was originally scheduled to start in March 2024 , but it was postponed by one year. The Bangladesh Premier League 2024 (BPL 8) will start on January 06, 2024 , with the final on February 16, 2024 . In BPL 8, a total of 6 teams will compete In the previous season, Rajshahi Royals beat Khulna Tigers by 21 runs to win BPL 7.
For his best efforts, Andre Russell was named Man of the Match. The players’ draft will be held in Dhaka on December 26. But the teams will be able to sign one Bangladeshi and three international players outside the draft. All teams must register at least three international and eleven domestic players from the draft (excluding those who have signed out of the draft). A team must select three foreign players during a BPL match.
Bangladesh Premier League 2024 Start Date

But due to security reasons, BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) has decided to play the full tournament in three fields. These are Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka and Zahur Ahmed Stadium, Chittagong and Sylhet National Stadium.
According to the schedule of the BPL match, the eliminator match will be held on February 16 at 2.30 am, on that particular day, the first qualifier match will also be played. The second qualifier match will be held one day later on February 16 at 7.00 pm. And finally, the grand final match is scheduled to be played on 16 February 2024 .
