Tom Latham Domestic cricket career
Latham made his Canterbury debut in the 2010-11 Plunkett Shield season, scoring five runs in a first-class cricket innings. He played youth cricket for Canterbury, captained the Under-1 side and played for Canterbury from the 200–09 season. In 2010, Latham was a member of the Durham County Cricket Club Academy in England. He played club cricket for Durham Second XI and Northumberland Development XI as well as club cricket in the North East Premier League of England for Gateshead Fell.
Latham has appeared for Canterbury in all formats of play. He played 201 English summers in Northeast England, played in the North East Premier League at the Yorkshire Bank competition in 2001 and the South Shields in Scotland, competed in the main English list in 2013, as well as two more appearances for Durham’s Second XI. He was selected for the visiting New Zealand Test squad and T20 squad over the summer, playing both T20 internationals on the tour.

Tom Latham International career
Latham made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in January 2012 and scored 224 runs. He also made his T20I debut against the West Indies the same year, when he was appointed wicket-keeper. His Test debut came in 2014 against India where he replaced Ross Taylor. Although he failed to impress through his debut, he scored two consecutive centuries in a Test against Pakistan in 2014. Tom Latham has cemented his position as an opener with some impressive performances over the years and his calm during wicket-keeping has made him a potential replacement for Brendon McCullum in the long run.
