Aryna Sabalenka will be facing Danielle Collins in the fourth round of the US Open on September 5. Here, you will know about Collins vs Sabalenka game.

Preview:

Sabalenka breezed through the first set against Catherine Harrison, but she had to come back from a set down against Kaia Kanepi in the second set.  Third round action pitted the Belarusian against qualifier Clara Burel. When it came to the first set, Burel put up a fight, but Sabalenka still gave the Frenchwoman the bagel. The world’s sixth-ranked player struggled in the second set.

Sabalenka is up 4-2 in the second set after she won it with five straight service breaks. After taking the first set, she went on to win the following two games and the match by scores of 6-0 and 6-2.

Collins’ injury absence prevented him from playing in any hardcourt tournaments leading up to the US Open. But it doesn’t seem to have had any effect on her. In her first match of the year, the American stunned Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner.

The next day, she defeated Cristina Bucsa. In the third round, Collins faced Alize Cornet, who had already upset the reigning champion, Emma Raducanu. In the sixth game of the first set, the American got a break of serve and was up 3-2. Because of this, she was able to steal the set at a later time.

Collins vs Sabalenka Prediction:

Against Sabalenka, Collins is 0-for-3. In contrast, Osaka was undefeated before to this matchup, thus she hadn’t beaten her either. The American is playing well right now and has not yet lost a set in the competition.

Sabalenka has played well, although she was almost eliminated by Kanepi in the second round despite her strong performance. While she got off to a strong start in the third round against Burel, she slipped a little in the second set. Though that was enough to see her past the French player, Collins may very well make her pay for it.

Both players have gotten a lot of attention for their powerful groundstrokes and outgoing personalities. Her major weapon, a two-handed backhand, has served Collins well. Sabalenka’s service game has been inconsistent all year, but it helped her advance to the second round. She has to keep her serve firm or otherwise the American will return fire in kind.

Collins is playing as well as she did during her run to the Australian Open final earlier this year. Sabalenka can give her a run for her money, but whether or not she will be successful is another story.

I’m picking Danielle Collins to take it in three sets.
