Murugan Ashwin is an Indian cricketer who plays for Tamil Nadu. He made his List A debut on 11 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ashwin made his Twenty20 debut on 2 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was bought at the 2016 Indian Premier League auction by the Rising Pune Supergiants for 4.5 crores. Which was 45 times the original base price of 10 lakhs.
In February 2017, he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils team for the 2017 Indian Premier League for 1 crore. In January 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL auction. His professional career started when he entered Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering, Chennai. Ashwin debut in List A was on 11 December 2015 in Vijay Hazare Trophy, 2015. His T-20 debut was in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy on 2 January 2016 against Haryana. Where he did bowling for 4 overs and took 4 wickets. Murugan Ashwin was the biggest gainer in the 2016 IPL auction. When Rising Pune Super Giants bought him for 4.5 crores (INR) from the base price of 10 lakhs.
