IU Football Match Schedule 2022 (Indiana Hoosiers football Schedule). Indiana and the Big Ten will periodically provide times and television information during the season, and we’ll make those updates here. The 2022 Indiana Hoosier football team will represent Indiana University in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Hoosiers play their home games at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana and compete as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Head coach Tom Allen will lead them into the sixth season.
IU announced Thursday kickoff times for half of its 2022 football games, which will begin at 8 p.m. Sept. 2 kickoff at home against Illinois in the season opener. That game will be televised on FS1. The Hoosiers will host Idaho on Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. and Western Kentucky at noon on Sept. 17 at Memorial Stadium. Both of those games will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Indiana Football 2022
After a surprising top 25 finish in the abbreviated 2020 season, the Hoosiers fell to 2-10 last season, falling to 0-9 in the Big Ten. Head coach Tom Allen has hired five new assistant coaches as well as 12 players from the transfer portal as he tries to return IU to winning ways in 2019 and 2020. The Hoosiers rank last in the Big Ten in total offense, averaging less than 300 yards and 18 points per game. IU had four touchdown passes in nine Big Ten games.
Allen fired offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan, replacing him with Walt Bell, who had earned a reputation as a play-caller at Maryland and Florida State before three solid seasons as UMass head coach. None of the Hoosiers’ top four running backs return, but that’s not as scary as it sounds because they combined for just 1,066 yards. Transfers Sean Shivers (Auburn) and Josh Henderson (North Carolina) saw the void as an opportunity to play immediately, though neither rushed for 90 yards last season.

There’s no northwest from the west, but missing Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota is great. There’s always a rivalry date against Purdue. And going to Nebraska won’t be easy, but starting the season at home against Illinois is tough. Against East, Michigan is coming to Bloomington, and the Penn State game comes on a week off at home, but the date with the Nittany Lions is followed by road games against Ohio State and Michigan State.
In general, it’s not fair to play a non-conference schedule without playing against another Power Five program, but Indiana gets a pass in this case. No, home games against Idaho and WKU shouldn’t be taxing, but going to Cincinnati makes up for it despite not being last year’s Bearcat team.
