Mohammed Shami Ahmed is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team. He is known as a reverse swing specialist. Shami is a right-arm fast bowler. Who consistently bowls around the 145 to 150 km/h (90 to 93 mph) mark. And swings and seams ball at that pace which makes him a deceptively potent fast bowler. Shami made his ODI debut against Pakistan in January 2013 where he bowled a record four maiden overs.

Mohammed Shami Ahmed on born 3 September 1990. Shami’s father, Tousif Ali was a farmer and also a fast bowler in his youth. It was he who took Shami to Badruddin Siddique after recognising Shami’s talents in fast bowling. Mohammed Shami has four siblings and all of them aspired to be a fast bowler in their early days. Tousif recognised Shami’s bowling abilities and took him to Badruddin Siddique. A cricket coach in Moradabad which was 22 km from their village.

Mohammed Shami Domestic career
Shami made his first-class debut in 2010 against Assam, picking up three wickets. In the aftermath of his good performance in the domestic season. He was selected for the West Indies-bound India A squad in 2012. He shared a match-winning partnership of 73 runs for the 10th wicket with Cheteshwar Pujara. During India A’s unofficial Test match against the West Indies A in June 2012.
During Ranji Trophy 2012–13, in a match against Hyderabad on a green at Eden Gardens. He took 4/36 and 6/71. And scored 15* from 6 balls in the second innings to help his side win the match by 4 wickets. Along with Wriddhiman Saha. Shami also took 7/79 and 4/72 against Madhya Pradesh at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. But in spite of that his side lost the match by 138 runs. It included a hat-trick in the first innings to wipe out the tail.

Mohammed Shami Indian Premier League
Shami made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013. He was signed by Delhi Daredevils for the 2014 season but played only a few matches in that season. He was retained by the franchise in 2015. But did not play a match that season before becoming a regular in the side. In December 2018, he was bought by Kings XI Punjab in the player auction ahead of the 2022 season.
Mohammed Shami International Career
Shami was selected for India National Cricket Team’s ODI series. Against Pakistan in 2013 based on an excellent performance in the domestic circuit. In 2014, Shami picked up 11 wickets against New Zealand in a series with an average of 28.72. The same year, he became the second-fastest Indian to take 50 ODI wickets. During the 2022 ICC World Cup. Shami took a hat-trick against Afghanistan and became only the second Indian to do so in a World Cup match.
Shami made his Test debut in 2013 against West Indies cricket team. He took 9 wickets in his debut match, the most by an Indian fast bowler on debut. H was a part of the 2104-15 Border Gavaskar Trophy where he took 15 wickets. Shami made his T20I debut against Pakistan in the opening match of the 2014 World T20. And took his maiden wicket in the form of Umar Akmal. He was later on dropped from the tournament and never really played a lot of T20I matches. Having made just seven t20I appearances in his career.
