UFC 279: Nate Diaz vs. Tony Ferguson Time, Livestream, prediction

Nate Diaz will be fighting against Tony Ferguson on September 10 at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada in UFC 279. Here, you will know about UFC 279.

Diaz made his debut in the professional ranks in 2004 with WEC. In 2007, the 37-year-old fighter was crowned the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Clay Guida, Donald Cerrone, Jim Miller, Gray Maynard, and Conor McGregor are among the opponents that Diaz has faced while competing for the UFC. Diaz has a record of 14-11 in the promotion. He has been defeated in his last two fights, the most recent of which was in 2021 against Leon Edwards at UFC 263.

In 2008, Ferguson made his debut in the professional league. Ferguson is currently 15-5 with the UFC and won season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter. Ferguson, a former interim champion of the UFC lightweight division, had his win run of 12 fights (from 2013-2019) interrupted when he faced Justin Gaethje in the year 2020. In his last four fights, Ferguson has a losing record of 0-4 (including the battle against Gaethje). His most recent bout ended abruptly when Michael Chandler knocked him out with a front kick.

UFC 279 Prediction:

Diaz undoubtedly benefited the most from the drastic last-minute change to the bout card. Stockton’s opponent, who is fighting in the last bout of his UFC contract, will have a lot easier time versus Ferguson.

A short time ago, Ferguson was one of the best in the world at lightweight.  Then, in an interim championship bout, he was defeated by Justin Gaethje through unanimous decision. This began a string of four consecutive defeats.

Ferguson, like many boxers who have fallen on hard times, has opted to try his hand in a different weight class. That his opponent has changed is also helpful to him. Diaz is and always has been the more innately frail of the two.

But it’s reasonable to ask whether he’s simply one of those boxers whose performance declines precipitously with age. During his previous bout, Diaz gave Leon Edwards a good battle. Ferguson, meanwhile, recently lost by knockout to Michael Chandler.

Prediction: Nate Diaz will win the fight.
