Gane vs Tuivasa Preview
Former heavyweight championship challenger Ciryl Gane of France faces up against Australia’s Tai Tuivasa, now rated third among competitors, in the main event. Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker of Australia faces Marvin Vettori of Italy in the co-main event.
The French-born Muay Thai fighter Gane was born in La Roche-sur-Yon. As a heavyweight, he won the TKO championship in his MMA debut in 2018. 2019 saw Gane’s first year with the UFC. After a fight in 2021, he took on Derrick Lewis and won, earning the interim UFC heavyweight championship. In January of 2022, when Gane and Francis Ngannou squared off for the uncontested championship, Ngannou won by unanimous decision.
Tuivasa debuted in mixed martial arts in 2012. As the reigning AFC heavyweight champion, Tuivasa made the move to the UFC in 2017. Tuivasa started out his career with the promotion undefeated, winning his first three bouts.
Five consecutive victories followed for Tuivasa after that, all by way of knockout. In his last match, he knocked out Derrick Lewis in February of 2022.
On the same event, Nasrat Haqparast will fight John Makdessi in the lightweight division, while middleweight Alessio Di Chirico will battle Roman Kopylov. Moreover, at featherweight, William Gomis faces Jarno Errens, and Nathaniel Wood faces Charles Jourdain. The complete cast list is shown below.

Gane vs Tuivasa Preview Prediction
Although Tuivasa has the ability to knock out his opponent with a single blow, this seems to be a terrible mismatch for him.
We’ve seen Gane go up against heavy hitters like Lewis and Ngannou, and he comes out on top every time because to his quickness, defense, and mobility. Tuivasa is deceptively fast, but he still can’t keep up with Gane’s footwork, and he’s got a 6-inch reach deficit.
Gane’s proficiency in Muay Thai will render Tuivasa’s low kicks ineffective, and the straight punches he throws with pinpoint accuracy will catch Tuivasa’s looping blows.
In addition to taking shots from Greg Hardy, Blagoy Ivanov, and Lewis, Tuivasa also took several himself. While he was able to take advantage of Hardy and Lewis’ aggressiveness to knock them out, he won’t have the same success against the methodical Gane. Even though I think Gane will win, the odds are so lopsided that you’d be better off looking elsewhere for value.
UFC Fight Night: Gane vs Tuivasa Prediction: Gane will win the fight.
